Special Events :: Fashion Bash in support of Rethink Breast Cancer

Through the self-employment program I was lucky enough to take part in, I met a wonderful designer ... Ms. Leanne Beagan. After graduation Leanne approached me with grand ideas of a fashion show to take place in Durham Region. To give each of us a little more exposure and to show everyone out here that top notch events can indeed happen, we started the preparations. We decided on a cocktail-style party at a local nightclub in Whitby and then it was off to the races to get things done. Included in the evening was everything from a silent auction with all proceeds going to charity to entertainment in between fashion segments by dancers, a singer and a fire dancer!
Rethink Breast Cancer was the charity of choice for us. Rethink helps young people who are concerned about and affected by breast cancer through innovative breast cancer education, research and support programs. They are a national volunteer-driven registered charity with a bold, enterprising and entrepreneurial approach. Between the two of us, Leanne & I managed to raise over $1000 for Rethink that night. We could not have done it without the help of some amazing businesses though.
